Ellen is a board-certified estate planning and probate attorney who represents clients in guardianship, probate, fiduciary litigation, and estate planning matters. Ellen’s practice encompasses all aspects of guardianship and estate/trust administration. She continually represents executors, trustees, heirs, beneficiaries, and creditors, in routine estate administrations as well as complex and contested matters through the state of Texas.
Ellen, and the entire BLS team, work directly with clients to provide individually focused representation.
Ellen currently serves on the Austin Bar Association Mentoring committee with the mission of connecting less experienced attorneys to more experienced attorneys providing opportunities for professional growth. Previously, she served as Past President (2011), President (2010-2011) and President Elect (2009) for the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Austin Bar Association. She has authored and lectured on a variety of continuing legal education resources about litigation, probate estate administration and guardianship.
A true believer in giving back to the community, Ms. Stewart devotes her free time to volunteering and serving on various boards. In addition, Ms. Stewart is on the board of AGE of Central Texas – connecting caregivers, those who need care giving and families with support resources in Central Texas. She has served as a mentor to students at Southwestern University and Texas State University. Ellen has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell for over 10 years, and has an “Excellent” rating on Avvo, in addition to various accolades over her 25-plus years in the legal field.
When not working, Ms. Stewart can be found attending various events at her beloved Southwestern University, cheering for the TUBAS at Baylor University, or enjoying the performances at Bass Concert Hall.
