About Tara Shaikh • Texas Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration and Guardianship Law

Tara Shaikh is a Texas attorney licensed since 2012 and a Cum Laude graduate of South Texas College of Law, bringing more than a decade of legal experience to her practice. She began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Harris County, where she tried numerous cases and worked closely with victims and their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. That experience sharpened her courtroom advocacy skills and shaped her steady, client focused approach to navigating complex and emotionally sensitive matters.

Tara later served as General Counsel for a commercial real estate company, advising on asset management, transactional matters, and operational risk. Through this role, she developed a practical understanding of business structures, investment assets, and the legal considerations that accompany wealth accumulation and preservation. While she valued the strategic and financial aspects of her work, she ultimately missed working directly with individuals and families.

In 2020, Tara transitioned her practice to estate planning, probate, trust administration, and guardianship law. This area allows her to combine her litigation background, counseling experience, and business insight to provide thoughtful, comprehensive planning tailored to each client’s unique assets, family dynamics, and long-term goals. She is committed to helping clients create plans that offer clarity and protection, and to guiding families through probate and trust administration with efficiency and compassion.

Tara joined Barnes, Lipscomb, & Stewart in July 2022 and focuses her practice on estate planning, probate, trust administration, and guardianship matters.
